After appearing in the acclaimed 'She Stoops to Conquer' Fabian Gayle-Rice who played the lively and adhering Diggory has been talent spotted and offered the lead in a feature film! The producer in question came along to the production's first night by invitation and his first words after the show where 'Excellent, I need to talk to Fabian!'. Immediately the discussions began and the delighted man of the moment accepted the offer of the lead in a film currently under the working title of 'Baskaville'. The film, due to be shot in London next summer, is about cleaners working in a high profile office who are domestics in the day but unbeknown to their employers, trade stocks on the black market at night. Fabian said 'I am so excited, I just can't believe it!' as he thanked the cast and crew of She Stoops for their hard work in putting on the production and their support during performance.

Copson Caught on Camera

Shakespeare in the Attic featured many high points, not least of which was a stroll down 'Shakespeare Avenue' our company photographer, Lewis Copson's first photography exhibit. The exhibit included photographs of the arts and Stratford-upon-Avon's most beautiful sight's buildings and events including the 2009 Shakespeare's birthday celebrations. The popular exhibit was praised by everyone who had a glimpse of the beauty and impressed Cox's Yard owners so much that Copson is doing an further outdoor exhibit this and has been employed as Cox's Yard's official photographer. His fantastic employment involves him taking, selecting and editing photographs for display on Cox's Yard's advertising material and also putting his work up on the website as part of their design. John-Robert Partridge who commissioned Copson to produce TTB's photography said 'Copson is known for his attention to detail and quality, he will ensure the highest standards for Cox's Yard'.

Tread the Boards looks forward to seeing Copson's work up on the website soon and cannot wait to enjoy another exhibit soon.

Bond does Macbeth

Joanna Bond takes on the role of Lady Macbeth after previewing her skills during Shakespeare in The Attic.

Joanna Bond was one of the many talented actresses who gave up their time and talent to perform a monologue or duologue as part of Shakespeare's birthday celebrations. Her chosen monologue was from Act I, Scene V of Macbeth and Joanna's moving, evocative and intense performance of the play's dark heroine proved pleasing to all who saw her.

Once the weekend was over Tread the Boards where lucky enough to receive an email from Joanna informing us that she had gone for the part of Lady Macbeth in a full version of the play near her and she had been offered the part! Joanna also thanked everyone in Stratford-upon-Avon for allowing her to perform her piece to an audience before her audition; something she said helped her with her confidence and getting the part.

Joanna said 'I think maybe performing in Stratford-Upon_Avon and enjoying the beautiful weekend up there helped' and we are glad it did!

Joanna and the cast are performing in Cathedrals up and down the country from May 20th so keep a watchful eye out for The Scottish play near you!
