The producers and founders of the company John-Robert Partridge and Catherine Prout are professionally trained actors from Warwick. John trained at Birmingham School of Acting where he gained a 1st Degree in BA Honours in Acting. Catherine received a BA Honours in Theatre and English from the University of Warwick and MA in Acting from Birmingham School of Acting. Both have been professionally acting ever since.

John and Catherine began working together doing historically based workshops and tours for children, playing everything from a Knight and a Lady to a Jester and a Wench. They began working on their first theatre production, Oscar Wilde’s ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’, as producers of Tread the Boards Theatre Company in 2009.

Since then Tread the Boards have produced a great variety of productions from Shakespeare’s Birthday Celebration festivities to dinner theatre, scare shows to classical texts.  At every stage the company has included talented and creative actors and production team members who have experience in each specific area, ensuring great quality continuously.

In 2010 TTB went to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with their production ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ which was performed at The Space @ Venue 45. This production won two awards for Best Play (The Importance of Being Earnest) and Best Actor (Matthew Huntbach) whilst there, to the great credit of all cast, crew and front of house who took part.

TTB are looking forward to a hugely successful year. If you wish to be considered for future productions please email headshots, CV’s and Covering letters to: tread.theboards@live.co.uk
